Tilly Valentine releases fresh electronic soul track to kick off 2019
Oxfordshire bred singer-songwriter Tilly Valentine now lives in London (having attended Brit School) and is amping up her music career in 2019, with the release of a second single that she's co-written with Edward Black and Graeme Heerden - 'Brick by Brick'. There's some ace production on this fresh track with it's catchy pop hook, funky R&B groove, hip hop beat, and cosmic synths. This latest song comes ahead of some more material later this year and a number of gigs lined up.
Comparing herself to the likes of Tom Misch, NAO and Lily Allen, Valentine's electronic sound fuses with a cosmic, soulful style. Tilly has that recognisable London twang, both in the singer's accent and some familiar guitar work, influenced by the south london jazz collective who are currently taking over the music scene across the UK - she's in great company with the likes of Poppy Ajudah, Yazmin Lacey, and Nubya Garcia pioneering cross-genre jazz fusion from R&B to pop.
The young artist has since been described as “one of the revolutions of music this year” with her recent rise in the London scene, after the release of her debut single ‘Coins’. Tilly Valentine has also seen support from BBC Radio 1xtra, BBC 6, and Music Republic Magazine who awarded her the “Best Music Video of 2018” (self-directed), alongside shortlisting Valentine for Best Female Artist, Best New Artist and Best Song/Songwriter.
Following her BBC Introducing live lounge, Valentine took to the stage at the O2 Academy in Oxford, and later played upstairs at the renowned Ronnie Scott’s with her three piece backing band. You'll be able to catch her at a number of gigs in what looks to be her busiest year yet...
